The top-notch Indian Badminton player Saina Nehwal has been forced to pull out of ongoing tournament Swiss Open Badminton Championship in Basel, Switzerland. This comes after the star player announced her injury on social media platforms. Saina, who was seen in the quarterfinals of All England Championships 2019, is suffering from “acute gastroenteritis” with mild pancreatitis. The 31-year-old has been advised to be hospitalized after medical checkup.
Saina took to her Instagram handle and shared the sad piece of news, “So some sad news … was really going through acute stomach pain from last Monday.. managed to play few matches in All England with lot of pain … and decided to skip Swiss open and come back to India and find out the issue”. The top Indian golfer Sharmila Nicollet along with many sports personalities sent her good wishes to ace shuttler.

Earlier in the quarterfinals of All England Open 2019 Badminton Championships at Birmingham Arena, the ace shuttler crashed out by 15-21, 19-21 in just 37 minutes to the World No.1 Tai Tzu Ying of Taiwan. It was a 13th straight defeat for Indian shuttler against the Taiwanese, who last lost to Saina Nehwal in 2015. Meanwhile, Parupalli Kashyap has already reached at Swiss Open 2019 to play his first round of match against Felix Burestedt. B Sai Praneeth has also joined the Indian badminton star in the tournament.
