Miami Heat keeps their title hope alive by defeating Los Angeles Lakers 115-104, in Game 03 of the NBA Finals. With this win, Miami Heat not trial the Los Angeles Lakers 2-1.
It was a historic night for Jimmy Butler, Miami Heat’s leader. He had an outstanding 40 point Triple-Double, scoring 40 points, 13 assists while grabbing 11 rebounds. Butler had 13 assists in both Game 2 as well as Game 3. He now becomes the third player in NBA history to record a 40 point triple-double in the Finals, joining Jerry West and LeBron James. He also became the first player to outscore, outrebound and out assist Lebron James in an NBA Finals game
Butler scored or assisted on 73 points, which ties him for the second-most in an NBA finals game. He becomes the first player with a 40 point game in the finals without attempting a single three-pointer since Shaquille O’Neal in 2002. Without the presence of two starters, Bam Adebayo and Goran Dragic, the Heat managed to defeat the lakers.
Duncan Robinson, Tyler Herro and Kelly Olynyk combined for 47 points.
LeBron James had a near triple-double scoring 25 points, 8 assists while grabbing 10 rebounds. He now moves to second on the All-Time NBA Final assist list surpassing Bob Cousy who had 400 assists All-Star Anthony Davis had a silent 15 point game as he was restricted with foul trouble, thus playing only 33 minutes. Markieff Morris and Kyle Kuzma had a really good supportive game. Each of them scored 19 points while playing 25 minutes and 23 minutes respectively.
