Golden State Warriors All-Star shooting guard, Klay Thompson has been ruled out for the upcoming 2020-2021 NBA season. Thompson suffered an injury which tore his Achilles. He suffered the injury on Wednesday during an open run and was unable to put any weight in the leg after the injury. He underwent some tests to determine the severity of the injury before he was eventually ruled off for the entire 2020-2021 season.
Thompson has also missed the whole 2019-2020 NBA season because of the torn ACL in his left knee. He had suffered the injury in the June of 2019 during the NBA finals against the Toronto Raptors. He was set to play his first NBA game in 18 months when the season would begin in December. But now, obviously, the wait for him to step on the court and play an NBA match will continue.
Before his torn ACL, Thompson was one of the most durable players in the NBA. He had never missed more than nine games in a season before the 2019-2020 season. A torn ACL injury is amongst the most serious injuries a basketball player can suffer. Major knee injuries often lead to further issues as players overcompensate in adjustment.
Stephen Curry had missed the majority of the 2019-2020 season too but is now expected t make a return in full strength when the new season begins. Draymond Green is now healthy and will be playing in full pace. Andrew Wiggins would be present. James Wiseman, the newly drafted number 2 player in the 2020 NBA draft. The Warriors are also nearing to acquire Kelly Oubre Jr. from the Oklahoma City Thunder in a trade deal.
Klay Thompson averaged 21.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game in the 2018-2019 NBA season. This year, the Warriors had the worst record in the whole of the league. They had a record of 15 wins and 50 losses.
The Warriors would not want to waste any seasons as their leader Stephen Curry is 32 years old. The Golden State Warriors wouldn’t want to waste any more of his prime years.
