There has been a deal between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Dallas Mavericks. A deal involving trade between the two teams. The Dallas Mavericks acquired Josh Richardson from the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for veteran shooting guard Seth Curry.
The 76ers had acquired Josh Richardson last season through the sign and trade that sent Jimmy Butler to the Miami Heat. Josh Richardson was an important role player for the 76ers who was a great support for Philadelphia’s All-Stars, Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid. Although Richardson’s defensive value was good for the team, his offensive skill set was limited which didn’t help the Sixers’ spacing issues through the year. Josh Richardson averaged 13.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game.
Philadelphia 76ers has a decent 43 wins and 30 loses to give them a 6th seed in the Eastern Conference. They were swept in the first round of the playoffs by the Boston Celtics 4-0.
Meanwhile, Seth Curry, the 30-year-old shooter out of Duke University, played with the Dallas Mavericks last season. Curry averaged 12.4 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game in the 64 games with the Mavericks while shooting 45% from behind the three-point field goal.
The Dallas Mavericks had a 43-32 record which was good enough for them to qualify in the playoffs having a 7th seed in the Western Conference. Mavericks faced and fell to Clippers 4-2 in the first round of the playoffs.
This will be a trade which could be beneficial for both the teams. The 76ers will be without Al Horford and Josh Richardson but have acquired players like Danny Green, Terrance Ferguson and Seth Curry in their roster.
