As the 12th edition of ICC men’s cricket World Cup is all set to roll down, Australian Cricket Board has recently announced their 15-men squad for grand cricket tournament which is going to be hosted by England and Wales. This year the big names from Australian cricket team including Peter Handscomb and Josh Hazlewood have been left out while the controversial duo David Warner and Steve Smith made their brilliant comeback in the squad after one year of serving ban. Earlier in 2018, both the cricketers have been banned by the Australian board due to ball-tampering scandal during a test series in South Africa.

However, the absence of Peter Handscomb in 15-men squad came as a big shock for cricket fans as the 27-year-old right handed batsman has been in great form and had a wonderful five-match ODI series against India last month where Australia defeated the blue squad by 3-2 series win. On the other hand Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood has also been eliminated from 2019 world cup squad despite showing great performances in the field.

Check out the unlucky players who miss out in World Cup selection process:

Despite scoring a brilliant maiden hundred in One Day series against India and having an average of 43 in 13 games in 2019 so far, Handscomb didn’t make it to world cup squad which indeed would have been a tough call for Australian selectors also.

ICC World Cup 2019 will begin from May 30 and will be ended up by July 14 at Lord’s Cricket Ground, London. Moreover, Australian squad will start their cricket cup campaign from June 1, 2019 against Afghanistan at Bristol Country Ground, England.
