The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has recently proposed the idea of playing a day-night Test in the upcoming two-match Test series between India and Bangladesh in November. Sourav Ganguly-led BCCI is seeking the permission of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for a day-night Test at iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata ahead of an important cricket series between both the countries. However, BCB is yet to respond to the proposal.

The Chairman of the cricket operation of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Akram Khan said on the development, “they have proposed a Day-Night Test and we will let them know after thinking a while. We have received the letter two or three days back and we will take a decision in this regard but we have not discussed it yet. We will let them know about our decision within one or two days”.

However, nothing has been confirmed so far whether both the team will play a day-night Test in the upcoming series or not. But one thing is confirmed that all the cricket fans across the world will be entertained by this worth-watching cricketing tour for sure. The newly-appointed president of BCCI Ganguly has already discussed the proposal with Indian skipper Virat Kohli and he immediately gave his consent to the exciting opportunity. Now the apex governing body of cricket in India is just waiting for the response of BCB. If the Bangladeshi tigers also give their consent to the proposal then Eden Gardens would host the first-ever day-night Test match for India.

Before playing the prestigious two-match Test series against Bangladeshi Tigers, the men in blue will battle in a three-match T20I series against strong visitors from November 3rd till November 10th. The very first Test encounter of the two-match series between India and Bangladesh is scheduled to be held at Holkar Stadium in Indore from November 14th till November 18. While the second Test match is scheduled to be played at the historic  Eden Gardens from November 22.

As of now, Indians are reigning at the top position of current ICC Word Test Championship standings along with as many as 240 points. It will be interesting to see whether the blues will be able to maintain their dominance in the upcoming fixture also or Bangladeshi tigers will emerge victorious.
