The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has provisionally suspended the List A cricketer Rinku Singh for allegedly participating in unauthorized T20 tournament at Abu Dhabi. This comes after the all-rounder cricketer participated in the T20 league without even taking permission from the cricket officials which straightly means that he violates the rules and regulations of BCCI. As a result, the Board has suspended him for a three-month period.

According to the BCCI officials,”players registered with the board cannot play in any tournaments abroad without its permission. Rinku Singh, therefore, has been suspended with immediate effect for a period of three months”. The suspension of the young cricketer will start from June 1, 2019. The 21-year-old local boy has also been removed from the current India ‘A’ squad ahead of his team’s multi-day tournament against Sri Lanka which is going to start from Friday May 31, 2019.

Earlier, Singh made his first-class cricket debut for Uttar Pradesh squad during  2016–17 season of Ranji Trophy. Moreover, he started his ‘List A cricket’ journey in March 2014 when he was just 16-year-old. Singh bagged total four half-centuries in seven List A matches which he played till December 2015. The right-arm off-break bowler has represented his side Uttar Pradesh in total three stages including Under-16, Under-19 and Under-23. The talented Indian player had also represented the state in Central Zone at the Under-19 level.

After playing List A and First Cricket formats, Rinku is also a part of the IPL as he was roped in by Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) franchise in 2017 edition of Indian Premier League. In IPL 2018 he showed his brilliance for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Though his side didn’t make it to the finale in that season but he gave his best efforts. In this year’s IPL auctions Singh was not able to impress the selectors and so he remained unsold in IPL 2019.

Singh marked the record of highest-runs on his name as amassed  803 runs in just nine matches while playing for Uttar Pradesh in Ranji Trophy 2018-19. He sealed the tournament with a total of 953 runs in ten matches.
