England are looking more than ready for the 2nd Test match Ashes series against old-foe Australia starting from August 14th till August 18th at Lord’s Cricket Stadium, London. After facing a disappointing 251-run defeat against Kangaroos at famous Edgbaston Stadium in front of the home crowd, English cricketers are now hoping to turn the tables in the second battle. In order to make this happen, England is running from pillar to post. Though before the starting of their innings in second Test, Joe Root and team already suffered a big blow as talented player James Anderson has been ruled out from the squad after a painful calf injury. With this, destructive pacer Jofra Archer joined them for the upcoming game. Archer is also going to make his Test debut from this battle.
On the other hand, attacking team Australia is all set with its world-class batsmen and pacers including Steve Smith, David Warner, Usman Khawaja, Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon. Starc who missed last game in Birmingham is likely to return in playing XI with second Ashes Test. He is also ready to dismiss experienced English batsmen with his deadliest deliveries ever. Both the teams are fully prepared for any sort of pitch condition whether it is swinging, flat or slow. It will be interesting to see who will take the lead in this game.
While expressing his feelings before the beginning of the game, England’s superstar Jofra Archer said, “I personally believe in Test cricket you get a lot more opportunities to redeem yourself. In 50 overs, if you don’t have a good 10 overs that’s it – you’ve got wait till the next game. You have ample chances to do it in the red-ball game”. While brilliant Australian pacer Mitchell Starc replied bluntly to England’s team, “We want to win this Ashes. Whether that’s a different bowling attack each game, or the same through five Test matches, it’s pretty exciting”.
