After their embarrassing 185-run defeat in the fourth Test encounter, English men are now hoping to bounce back with a bang against Kangaroos in the fifth Ashes Test at Oval Stadium from Thursday. In order to ensure their win in the upcoming battle hosts are practicing hard in the nets with the unchangeable squad.
Despite talisman Ben Stokes’ shoulder injury in the ongoing series, England included him in the fifth Ashes Test squad as there are some chances of his well-recovery till the final showdown. Durham paceman Stokes, picked up a serious injury during the first innings of the fourth Test after which he walked off the field and didn’t play the next innings at Old Trafford Cricket. If Stokes will declare unfit to bowl at the Oval Stadium in next match, he is expected to play as a specialist batsman on Thursday.
Apart from Stokes, Joe Root is also a very crucial player for England but since last two encounters he is not playing up to the mark and in the upcoming battle everyone is hoping for his big shots against destructive pacers of Australia. The head coach of England cricket team, Trevor Bayliss said about Root’s form in the game, “everyone goes through periods where they don’t score as many runs as they’d like. I think the Australian team has bowled pretty well to him”.
After taking the lead in the ongoing series Australia is now eyeing on sealing the Ashes 2019 with 3-1 successful win against old-foe England at Oval Stadium. While the hosts are looking forward to turning the tables around with 2-2 draw in this year’s Ashes series. It will be interesting to see who will dominate whom in the upcoming battle.
