Currently, Pandya is on a five to six-month-long break after undergoing a successful lower back injury in London. He faced a serious back injury issue during the prestigious event of Asia Cup 2019 in UAE after which he underwent the medical assessment process. But the brilliant right-handed batsman suffered the bad injury pain once again a few weeks back.
Pandya also skipped the ongoing home series against South Africa and also the 2019-20 edition of Vijay Hazare Trophy due to his back surgery. He has already begun his journey to fitness after a few days of surgery and it seems like he will join his team back in the upcoming fixtures.
