India will play their inaugural match of Cricket World Cup 2019 at Southampton. They will be up against a side which has been badly hit by injuries. Dales Steyn is no more part of world cup and Lungi Ngidi remains out for 10 days due to hamstring. India are well rested and raring to go but will be cautious seeing what happened to England a couple of days ago. Virat Kohli was called as immature by Kagiso Rabada which Kohli brushed away at the press conference but knowing him you can be well assured there will be something on the field. The openers have not got runs in the warm up and Kedar is coming back from injury. There is also a decision of whther go with Jadeja and have a proper all rounder at 8 or stick with two wristies.
South Africa on the other hand are battling with injuries. Steyn is gone, Ngidi is absent and Amla is battling. Du Plessis is in form but can’t steer the ship alone and against a team like India against which they have not won a game in ICC tournaments since 2011, it is going to be a tough task.
