Defending Champion Australia is all set to take on Pakistan in the 17th match of ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019 at the pitch of Cooper Associates County Ground in Taunton on June 12th. The match will start from 10:30 AM in England, 03:00 PM in India, 07.30 PM in Australia and 03.30 PM in Pakistan. Both the sides are going to play their fourth match of the tournament at CWC 2019. Aussies have won two matches and lost only one so far whereas Pakistan has won a single match and lost one match while their last match had been washed out.

Opening their campaign with two consecutive victories, Aaron Finch-led squad seemed to look very much confident in their starting matches against Afghanistan and West Indies respectively. Australia’s winning momentum faced a jolt when they meet Indian tigers in their last CWC 2019 match at ‘The Oval’ stadium. Despite witnessing three half-centuries in the game from brilliant batsmen Steve Smith, David Warner, and Alex Carey, Australia were left short by just 36 runs as India posted a massive target of 353 runs on board after batting first.

On the other side, Pakistan who previously opened their grand Cricket Cup campaign with a major disappointing defeat against West Indies at Trent Bridge turned the tables in the second match of the season against hosting team England on the same pitch. Path-breaking performance by Babar Azam and Mohammed Hafeez led their side to seal the match by 14-run victory against the hosts. Though, green army’s third match against Sri Lanka had been called off due to heavy rain at Bristol County Ground. Pakistan needs to show the same kind of miraculous performance against Australia in their fourth match which they showed against England.

Head on Head records

Both Australia and Pakistan have played a total of 103 matches against each other out of which Aussies had won 67 and Pakistan clinched 32 while three games got no results. In their last encounter against Pakistan, Aussies won the five-match One Day International Series with a clear margin of 5-0 at United Arab Emirates (UAE) in March 2019. Pakistan and Australia played total nine matches against each other so far in World Cup fixtures out of which Pakistan had won only four while Australia leading with five.

Weather Forecast

Continuous bad weather conditions at 2019 World Cup venues are playing a spoilsport for all the cricketers and the same kind of situation can be expected again. There are some chances of heavy rain at Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton. Amid of rain threats, Australia still looks to have a great comeback against Pakistan after facing a defeat against India.
