In the 18th match of ICC World Cup 2019, two powerful teams are going to take on each other at Trent Bridge in Nottingham on June 13th. Currently reigning at the top position of the points table, New Zealand is all set to lock the horns with Indian tigers in their fourth match at the 12th edition of grand cricket cup at 9:30 am (GMT). New Zealand won all three past matches in the ongoing tournament so far while India has also won its all (2) World Cup encounters in this edition till now.
The Black Caps started their 50-over maiden tournament with a fierce 10-wicket win against Sri Lanka at Sophia Gardens. But this was just the beginning for Kiwis as New Zealand continued its winning momentum against Bangladesh and Afghanistan also in their next cricket cup battles. Kane Williamson-led New Zealand squad won the nail-biting feud against Bangladesh by just two wickets at ‘The Oval’ stadium and in their last battle against Afghanistan, Kiwis won the game by seven wickets at County Ground Taunton. In their next battle with India, top rankers will try to lead the board again with maximum points.
On the other hand, one of the most favourite squads in World Cup, India is also giving neck-to-neck competition to its opponents as India has won all two matches in the season so far. The Blues registered a brilliant six-wicket win in their 2019 World Cup opener against South Africa at Rose Bowl Cricket Ground which was later followed by their another big-hitting victory against defending champions Australia at Oval Pitch on June 9th. Virat Kohli’s team is now looking forward to improving its records against New Zealand in their third match of the season. Despite facing a major jolt of Shikhar Dhawan’s absence in the team, India didn’t lose hope and are looking fully prepared for the exciting battle.
Both India and New Zealand have played total seven matches against each other in World Cup fixtures so far out of which New Zealand had won four while India clinched only three. Men in blues have faced New Zealand a total of 106 times in International cricket tournaments out of which Indians had won 55 matches and black caps sealed just 45 while five matches got no results and one match was tied. Both the squads last battled with each other at the recent warm-up fixtures where Indian cricketers were shocked by the amazing opening spell of Trent Boult. This led to a six-wicket victory of New Zealand over India at The Oval stadium.
Light rain could be expected at Nottingham which can play a spoilsport for the game before its beginning. As per the dark weather conditions, a lot of swing and seam could also be expected at the Trent Bridge pitch.
