India Vs South Africa, 1st Test

Indian cricket team outclassed arch-rivals Pakistan in a much-anticipated match of ICC World Cup 2019 on June 16th at Old Trafford cricket ground. The impressive team efforts of Virat Kohli and squad have driven the country to mind-blowing 89-run victory over greens by DLS method. The match which was started with neck-to-neck encounters eventually turned into a one-sided affair after blue tigers posted a stiff target of 336 runs on board.

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl at first in the game but this hardly affected India’s game as Rohit Sharma’s brilliant hundred along with captain Kohli’s fifty assured the victory of blue team in the 22nd encounter of World Cup 2019. Despite the absence of his opening partner Shikhar Dhawan, vice-captain Rohit Sharma performed very well along with new mate KL Rahul. Both the explosive openers gave their side an electrifying start after establishing a remarkable partnership of 136 runs in 23.5 overs. Experienced player Rohit knocked spectacular 140 runs in 113 deliveries while young-gun Rahul on the other side contributed brilliant 57 runs off 78 balls in big-hitting victory. The opening duo’s great momentum was later followed by the captain of the ship Virat Kohli who bagged 77 runs off 65 balls for his side’s comfortable win. Hardik Pandya’s watchful cameo in the game also helped the blues to cross 300 mark.

Though cold and wet weather of Manchester disappointed many cricket fans and cricketers but this would not able to stop India’s attacking pace and their amazing bowling against Pakistani batsmen. In the second innings of the game rain, at last, stopped the match after 35 overs. At that point, Pakistani cricketers were managed to score just 166 runs for the loss of six wickets and were nowhere near to the DLS-par target of 252 runs, as a result, India won the game with an easy triumph.

The World Cup match between India and Pakistan is a treat to watch for every cricket fan as all eyes were glued to television screens at that time and that’s exactly what happened in this year’s game also. India and Pakistan have earlier faced each other total six times in prestigious cricket cup fixtures and hapless green army didn’t win any of the battles against India.
