The Indian Cricket Team has proved it one more time that they are no less than any superstrong squad in world cricket as they made a miraculous comeback in the ongoing three-match T20I series against Bangladeshi tigers in front of the home crowd. This happened when Rohit Sharma and team emerged victorious in the second T20I encounter and beat the powerful tigers by eight wickets at Saurashtra Cricket Stadium in Rajkot on Thursday. All thanks to the explosive openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan who put up a great show to ensure their side’s impressive victory against Bangladesh.
It was the hosts who won the toss and decided to bowl first after which tigers witnessed a pretty good start as both the opening batsmen Liton Das and Mohammed Naim established a 60-run stand for the first wicket. When on one side, Das bagged just 29 runs for his team before a shocking run-out by star wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant. On the other hand, Naim contributed important 36 runs off 31 balls. However, Soumya Sarkar (30) and brilliant skipper Mahmudullah (30) tried their best to set a good score on board with their cameos. But Indians stopped them on 153-run stand after 20 overs.
Chasing a paltry target of 154 runs, Indians got off a spectacular start as stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma knocked a quick-fire 85 runs off just 43 balls while his partner Shikhar Dhawan scored important 31 runs which were enough to cross 100-run stand before the first wicket. After the dismissal of both the destructive openers by Aminul Islam, short but important cameo of Shreyas Iyer helped the hosts to mark the eight-wicket win.
Both the teams will next take on each other in a tie-breaker at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur on Sunday. It will be interesting to see which team will be able to extend its lead in the third and final T20I encounter. However, the men in blue are looking forward to seal the important series with 2-1 win. But the strong Bangladeshi tigers are also aiming to go all out to register the historic win over Indians in a T20I format
