Having sealed the three-match Test series with 2-0 win against Proteas, the Indian Cricket Team is now all set to wrap up the important campaign with clean-sweep. The hosts have put up a great show against South Africa so far in the ongoing home series as in the first Test, they have registered the 203-run win at Vizag while in the second Test encounter, the men in blue outclassed the visitors by an inning and 137 runs at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. With spinners like Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja in the team, India can win any Test battle in front of the home crowd.
On the other hand, the ill-fated Proteas who have already lost the series despite putting best efforts faced a major setback before the commencement of the third Test at JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. The explosive opener of South Africa, Aiden Markram has been ruled out of the final Test battle due to self-inflicted wrist injury on Thursday. The aggressive cricketer lashed out at a solid object during the second Test match at Pune as he was given out LBW by the umpire in the second innings. Now in the absence of the crucial batsmen Markram, it is going to be quite difficult for Proteas to perform against destructive pacers of India.
It will be interesting to see whether Virat Kohli’s men will be able to seal the series with a complete 3-0 win or Proteas will reduce the gap at the end of the campaign. However, the hosts have already clinched the series with two victories but still, they are looking forward to completely whitewash the visitors as every game is important keeping in mind the world test championship.
