Both India and West Indies are all set with their world-class players for the final One Day International clash of the ongoing series on Wednesday at Queen’s Park Oval at Trinidad. When on one side Indian cricketers are looking forward to sealing the ongoing ODI series with a clinical win against Maroons, West Indies, on the other, is hoping to turn the table around. Though India is leading the current scoreboard with a 1-0 lead against Windies.
Here’s see the talented players of India and West Indies squads who will be watching out for in the 3rd One Day International match at Port of Spain, Trinidad:
One of the best players in Indian Cricket Team, Rohit Sharma is all set to perform in the final encounter of ongoing three-match One Day International Series at Queen’s Park Oval at Trinidad. Hitman Rohit Sharma had a disappointing inning in the second ODI battle against West Indies as he lost his wicket for just 18 runs. This came as a big shock for the whole Indian squad as everybody expected a lot from the legendary right-handed batsman. There is no doubt in saying that the experienced vice-captain of Indian Cricket team has the ability to lift his squad singlehandedly in the upcoming game. It would be interesting to see whether the 3rd ODI of India against Windies players will be a hitman show or the talented opener will return back to pavilion without any commendable scorecard.
The young emerging player of Indian cricket squad, Rishabh Pant needs no introduction in sports fraternity as he is reigning at his best form right now. After impressing the Indian team selectors in last T20 international encounter against West Indies, the swashbuckling left-handed batsman is now looking forward to play big shots in third One Day International against Maroons. Though he didn’t perform up to the mark in last ODI match of the ongoing three-match series against Windies. In the second ODI for India, Pant smashed a couple of boundaries but his happiness was short-lived as he walked off the field after making 20 runs off 35 balls and he failed to face Carlos Brathwaite’s delivery. With the remarkable support of team India, Pant is also hoping to rise as a fighter in the upcoming battle.
The renowned wicketkeeper-batsman of West Indies squad Shai Hope is still waiting for an optimistic chance to show his prowess across the World. The veteran right-handed batsman has a tough time in the recently concluded ICC World Cup 2019 at England and Wales as he has failed to score many runs for his team’s win in the prestigious tournament.
Running out of form, Hope hasn’t achieved much in this ongoing ODI series against India also as in the first One Day International match he lost his wicket after scoring just six runs for his team. While in the second ODI he went back to the pavilion after five miserable runs. Now, this is a great opportunity for him to prove his tendency in front of whole cricket fraternity. It will be interesting to see what will happen next.
The great Windies pacer Sheldon Cottrell who is well-known for his Cottrell salute in the field is looking forward to give his vintage gesture to Indian batsmen on the pitch of Queen’s Park Oval in 3rd ODI match. Cottrell has shown great improvement in his typical bowling style as he revolutionized his game with a new strategy of picking up wickets in crucial times. It will be interesting to see whether his surprising bowling spells will help West Indies to win the game against Blues or not.
