IPL 2019 is going to start from March 23. There were some speculations about the dates of the IPL because of the general elections that are going to happen in 2019. The IPL has been shifted out of India in past also due to elections. In 2009, the IPL was played in South Africa. In 2014, some matches of the IPL were played in Dubai due to the same reason.

Speculations were ripe that this year also either the IPL will start well below its normal dates of the second week of April or it will be scheduled outside India. As of now, BCCI has released a statement which says that all the matches of the IPL will be played in India only.

Chennai Super Kings are the defending champions this season. They won the IPL in 2018 under the astute leadership of MS Dhoni. There were also some talks going on to advance the IPL 2019 schedule so that the players have enough amount of rest before the World Cup starts on May 30. Cricket Boards and players across the globe are keeping an eye on IPL dates so that they can plan for the world cup and can guard against injuries.

The Hon’ble Supreme Court of India appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) on Tuesday met in New Delhi to discuss the VIVO IPL 2019 venues and window,” the BCCI said in a release.
