The all-rounder Indian cricketer Kedar Jadhav who is currently playing for Chennai Super Kings in ongoing Indian Premier League has been ruled out of the remainder of the tournament. This comes after the 34-year-old suffered a severe shoulder injury during the match against R.Ashwin-led Kings XI Punjab squad. Jadhav injured himself while diving near the boundary to save a swift overthrow in the 14th over bowled by superstar Dwayne Bravo after which the player left the field.

While announcing the shocking news, the head coach of Chennai Super Kings, Stephen Fleming said.” he is getting an X-ray and a scan (done) tomorrow. We are hopeful for him although I don’t think we will see him again in this tournament for us. He is in some discomfort, but we just need to be accurate with our assessments tomorrow”. Moreover, the vital cog for Indian World Cup squad will not join the yellow team in the rest of the matches and as a result Murali Vijay is coming to replace the player.

Indian squad have kept their fingers crossed about the health of the veteran player as Jadhav has already been picked-up national team selectors for upcoming ICC World Cup 2019 starting from May 30 in England and Wales.

The yellow squad lost their last match against Kings XI Punjab at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali on Sunday. Punjab won the game by six wickets with 12 balls left. MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings will next take on arch-rivals Mumbai Indians in their first exciting playoff match of IPL 2019 at home grass in Chepauk Stadium on Tuesday.
