Chennai Super Kings might not have won the shining trophy of Indian Premier League 2019 but they surely won the hearts of millions as star batsman of the yellow squad Shane Watson batted on the field with a bleeding knee during the one last battle of the season against Mumbai Indians at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
Despite bleeding from the knee the ultimate hero of the night played a commendable inning in the grand finale. The explosive opener of MS Dhoni-led CSK squad scored 80 runs off just 59 balls which played a major role for his side to reach close to the target of 150 runs. The 37-year-old veteran cricketer dismissed by Krunal Pandya in last over via run out.
Right after the ending of grand cricket festival, Watson’s fellow in CSK Harbhajan Singh posted a picture on Instagram with a caption reading, “Can you guys see the blood on his knee. He got 6 stitches after the game. Got injured while diving but continue to bat without telling anyone”. Notable, Watson has received a total of six stitches on his left leg after his dive to save himself from being run out. There is no doubt in the fact that Watson had played like a warrior in the match and in his final knock Shane smashed a total of eight boundaries and four brilliant sixes to drive his team to the trophy but unfortunately, he could not complete the job.
After the post went viral on social media Twitter flooded with reactions of Watson fans. Check out some of the Twitter reactions for legend of the eve:

The 12th edition of Indian Premier League was a mixed baggage for Australian cricketer as he played some very good innings in the tournament and witnessed some disappointed strokes also. During the league stage match against Kane Williamson-led Sunrisers Hyderabad, Watson failed to complete his maiden century and barred at 96 runs in Chepauk Stadium, Chennai.
Mumbai Indians who won the toss in the final and elected to bat first set the target of 150 runs on board which was looking a child-play for captain cool Dhoni but later in the match Rohit Sharma and Company grabbed the match from Chennai and beat the defending champions with one-run narrow win. This comes after the star pacer Lasith Malinga bowled an excellent last over to defend 9 runs in the final.
