Indian Premier League is all about great teams with legendary captains and this year too many captains have proved their leadership skills in a good way while some faced disappointments. In cricket, one wrong decision could cost you a match and at that point a captain has a major role to play in order to back his team. Mumbai Indians Skipper: Rohit Sharma

Winning team captain Rohit Sharma has usually seen as decisive and calm on the field which makes him one of the most successful captains in IPL 2019. The 32-year-old Indian cricketer had shown his great leadership skills even in the finale of this year’s IPL as in the tensed last over of Malinga where anything could have happened Sharma stayed calm and tried to work out the ways in best possible manner.

Chennai Supers Kings Skipper: MS Dhoni

CSK’s captain MS Dhoni who is already known as captain cool has the immense knowledge of the game which is considered to be his biggest strength. Being a captain of CSK he knows very well how to use his squad’s strength. In this season of IPL, Dhoni showed his brilliant talent of captaincy in each and every game. Dhoni has proved it many times that nobody could be better than him when it comes to leading the team.

Delhi Capitals Skipper: Shreyas Iyer

Young captain of Delhi Capitals Shreyas Iyer has left a great impression as he leads his team very well and into the playoffs. Moreover, under his great captaincy Delhi reached to semi-finals in IPL 2019 which happened for the first-ever time in the history of IPL. The best part about Iyer’s captaincy in this year was that he always sported a positive smile on his face irrespective of results in the game. Even in the intense qualifier against Chennai Super Kings he seemed to be very composed and tried to back his team at every point of the game.

Rajasthan Royals Skipper: Steve Smith

The experienced Australian cricketer Steve Smith was appointed as the skipper of Rajasthan Royals at halfway mark of IPL 2019 journey but still he managed the team with excellent approach and new strategies. While taking the reigns of pink squad Smith scored half-centuries in the first two matches as captain of RR. Not only this, the 29-year-old experienced cricketer also contributed a crucial 22 runs in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad which they won.

Kings XI Punjab Skipper: Ravichandran Ashwin

Being the captain of Kings XI Punjab Ravichandran Ashwin faced a lot of controversies this year. From Mankading controversy to No-ball incident, Ashwin had to go through many things but despite having all odds during the season he marshalled his squad with best possible efforts and helped them to compete in the game. Though, it has always been seen that Kings XI Punjab started their IPL journey with a bang but later fall sideways towards the end. It would be interesting to see whether Ashwin will work on his team’s momentum or just go with the flow.

Sunrisers Hyderabad Skipper: Kane Williamson

The Skipper of Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2019, Kane Williamson had a great season this year. Though, he also suffered from many ups and downs during his IPL stint but he didn’t loose hope and took his team to the eliminators. Kiwi captain who was undergoing a shoulder injury was in and out of the team manier times which affected his squad in different aspects.

Rajasthan Royals Skipper: Ajinkya Rahane

Ajinkya Rahane suffered many fluctuations as a captain of Rajasthan Royals as he started this IPL by being the captain of the team but later was sacked by the authorities for not performing well and then again took the reigns as captain. Rahane’s call for many wrong decisions in tournament cost the matches to his team. Moreover, he was not not able to bring the best from his players.

Sunrisers Hyderabad Skipper: Bhuvneshwar Kumar

As a captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad in few matches, Bhuvneshwar Kumar handled the team brilliantly. Though he had a slow start initially but later he understood his responsibilities and tried to make right decision for the betterment of his squad in the game.

Royal Challengers Bangalore Skipper: Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli who is currently leading Indian National Cricket Team does not have an excellent career stint as the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore. This year also his team lost six straight matches in the beginning of the tournament. Being the captain of National squad Kohli automatically sets the bar high for himself and now in this season when he wasn”t able to match up to squad’s expectations many people raised questions on his captaincy which was probably the saddest thing for the veteran cricketer.

Kolkata Knight Riders SKipper: Dinesh Karthik

This year’s IPL was not that happening for Kolkata Knight Riders as the squad was not so strong. Apart from Russell power and Shubman Gill, the team doesn’t have any astonishing fruitful resource which later drowned their boat in the IPL. Though, Karthik as a captain tried to be very supportive and backed his team in every loss and every triumph which is the sign of a good leader.
