As it is the birthday eve of star captain of Mumbai Indians Rohit Sharma, his franchise declared the occasion as ‘Hitman Day’ across the country. The ace Indian cricketer turned 32 years old on April 30 and all his fans across the world are sending their love to him on social media since it is not less than any special moment for them. The hitman Sharma who is popularly famous for big-hitting talent has an immense fan following who keep showering their love on him even in the difficult situations.
The right-handed batsman started his international journey at a very early age of 20 and stepped into One Day International format in June 2007 against Ireland. The explosive player of Indian cricket team had begun his opening batsman career in 2013 ODI series and never looked back. Sharma played a total of 108 ODIs before making his Test debut in November 2013 against West Indies. Moreover, the right-handed batsman has bagged the highest individual score of 264 in single innings of ODIs.
Sharma announced his entry in the glitzy tournament of Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2009 and the Hitman has become the first Mumbai Indians’ skipper who led the team to the prestigious IPL title three times in 2011, 2015 and 2017. Currently, MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings are the reigning champions. Rohit made his debut in IPL from Deccan Chargers which was later terminated by the IPL authorities.
As of now, Mumbai Indians are leading among top three positions in IPL points table and will play their next match against Kane Williamson-led Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 2, 2019 at home ground of Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Apart from leading Mumbai Indians in ongoing IPL series, Rohit Sharma has also been serving as the vice-captain of Indian cricket squad in limited overs format.
