After an entertaining season opener of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Delhi Capitals (DC) will lock horns against the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) during the second game. The home team DC will host the match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on September 20 (Sunday).

Both the teams look quite balanced before the start of the tournament. Even some of the cricket experts and pundits are picking these two teams to go through the top four in IPL 2020. The two North India giants have various similarities amongst them too.

This season could be the first title for both of them; Delhi and Punjab have young, Indian middle-order batsmen as their captains; and with Ricky Ponting and Anil Kumble respectively, both DC and KXIP have an intelligent think-tank in the dugout.

Ahead of the DC-KXIP clash, Delhi’s lead pacer Ishant Sharma injured himself while practising in the nets. The Delhi-based franchise has good like-for-like alternatives in the form of Harshal Patel and Mohit Sharma. Despite an injury vow, the Capitals will start as the favourites, while keeping the last year’s performances of the two.
