Defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) continue with their winning run in the 13th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. They register a thumping victory of 8 wickets over Kolkata Knight Riders in match 32. Quinton de Kock won the ‘Player of the Match’.

KKR’s new skipper Eoin Morgan won the toss and decided to bat first at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. They made two changes in their side as Chris Green and Shivam Mavi came in for Tom Banton and Kamlesh Nagarkoti. Surprisingly, MI also made a single as Nathan Coulter-Nile played his maiden game of the season in place of James Pattinson.

Batting first, KKR batsmen surrendered in front of the Mumbai-based franchise right from the beginning of their inning. None of their top-order batsmen could score big runs in this match against MI. Skipper Morgan’s 39* and Pat Cummins’ half-century at the end, helped KKR post a respectable total of 148-5 after their 20 overs.

Rahul Chahar emerged as the pick of the bowlers for Mumbai in this game with his tight spell of 4-0-18-2. He took the crucial wickets of Shubman Gill and Dinesh Karthik during this encounter. Other Mi bowlers also supported him well from the other end.

Easy run-chase for MI Paltan

The moment MI batsmen came to the crease, it seemed like they are batting on a different wicket. Both Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock smashed runs with ease during the run-chase. The former got out after run-a-ball 35, but de Kock went on to play a marvellous knock of 78* runs off just 44 deliveries. With a few shots from Hardik Pandya in the end, MI comfortably clinched the game.

Varun Chakravarthy was the most economical bowler for KKR in this inning where he also bowled out Suryakumar Yadav. Shivam Mavi was the only wicket-taker for the Kolkata-based franchise during this game against MI.
