Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) which imposed the ban on travelling of families and wives along with cricketers in this upcoming ICC World Cup 2019 has made some amendments in its decision as the official cricket authorities of Pakistan have allowed families of players in the showpiece event only after the match against arch-rivals India. This comes after the Pakistani cricketers showed their disappointment with the decision and made several requests to the board in this regard.
The new policy is applied to all the 15 members of World Cup squad except superstar batsman Haris Sohail who has been allowed special dispensation only on personal grounds. Though, the board had given the permission to the cricketers to bring their families in five-match One Day International series against England but later turned down the request for eliminating every distraction during the most important cricket tournament in World.
India-Pakistan match is considered to be the most exciting game for every World Cup fan and for both the countries as nobody wants to give any point to each other in the game.
Pakistan cricket officials said on the development, “the board decided to review its earlier decision not to allow players to have their families with them in the World Cup taking into view the trend followed by other teams”.
Pakistan army will be seen in action at ICC World Cup 2019 from May 31st against West Indies at Trent Bridge and they will play their do or die game against India on June 16 at Old Trafford Cricket Ground. Moreover, the Sarfarz Ahmed-led squad lost their first warm-up fixture against World Cup debutant Afghanistan earlier in last week at Bristol County Stadium. The Afghanistan superstars registered the win by three wickets while chasing down the target of 263 runs in the fixture. Afghanistan will play its last warm-up match against hosting team England at The Oval Stadium, London on May 27. The warm-up fixtures have ended for Pakistan as their last warm-up match scheduled to be held at Cardiff Stadium against Bangladesh was abandoned on Sunday due to heavy rains in the city.
