Pakistan vs Sri Lanka

The powerful Lankans emerged victorious after the third and the last T20I encounter against Pakistan at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on Wednesday. The brilliant squad of Sri Lanka completely whitewashed the hosts with 3-0 win in the three-match T20I series at their own den. All thanks to the swashbuckling batsman Oshada Fernando who scored an unbeaten knock of 78 runs off just 48 balls to ensure his team’s clinical 13-run win over the green army at Lahore.

Toss-winning team Sri Lanka decided to bat first in front of the confident hosts and their decision proved right at the end of the day. However, the visitors got off a jerky start as both the destructive openers Danushka Gunathilaka and Sadeera Samarawickrama lost their wickets at a very early stage.

When on one side, the brilliant left-handed batsman  Gunathilaka walked back to the pavilion after scoring just eight runs for his team, Sadeera on the other, bagged just 12 runs for Sri Lanka and made his way to the dressing room after Imad Wasim dismissed him. Lankans then lost a flurry of wickets in a row but the moment Oshada Fernando came on the pitch to bat, visitors took a sigh of relief as he singlehandedly helped his side to set the target of 147 runs on board.

Chasing such a paltry target of 148 runs, Pakistan also had the worst possible start as their blazing opener Fakhar Zaman was dismissed for a duck by Kasun Rajitha while his opening partner Babar Azam was hunted down by Lahiru Kumara for just 27 runs of 32 balls. Eventually, the Pakistani cricketers lost their wickets one by one and Sri Lanka wrapped up the show with a 13-run win.

After their disappointing performance in the recently concluded T20I series at the home pitch, netizens trolled the Sarfaraz Ahmed and team and brutally roasted them on social media platforms.
