Vijay Shankar has confirmed his place in the 15 member squad for the world cup according to the former cricketer, Harbhajan Singh. Bhajji as he is famously known took to Twitter to express his views. The tweet came after Shankar bowled the last over against Australia in the second one day international and got two wickets to take India to victory.

The series between India and Australia is the last set of one-day matches being played by India before they go to the world cup which starts on May 30 in England and Wales. During the second ODI, Aussies needed 11 runs from the last over. Bumrah and Shami were bowled out and Captain Kohli had to do a toss up between Jadhav and Shankar as to who will bowl the last over.

Kohli went with Shankar and he repaid the faith of the captain. He got Stoinis trapped in front of the wicket. The batsman sent it upstairs for review but it was umpire’s call and it remained out. There was a couple on the second ball and on the third ball of the over. Shankar shattered the stumps of Zampa to take India to a memorable victory.

India leads the 5 match series by a margin of 2-0 and the third ODI will be played in Ranchi on March 8.
