The new head of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Sourav Ganguly is looking quite excited for his new responsibilities as he recently took to his official Twitter account to share an amazing post with his new team of BCCI. Ganguly who is fondly known as ‘Dada’ by the Indian cricket fans posted a snap with new BCCI Secretary Jay Shah and former BCCI President Anurag Thakur on social media platforms.
The 47-year-old former Indian skipper Ganguly expressed his gratitude in a recent post by saying, “the new team at BCCI hopefully we can work well. Anurag thakur thank you for seeing this through @ianuragthakur”. He also thanked the former President Thakur for pushing his name forward for the honorary position.
The entire unit of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), along with the other bureaucrats met in an official meeting held on Sunday where they unanimously decided to name Ganguly as the next President of BCCI. However, N Srinivasan, who is himself a former BCCI President fought for the former Indian batsman Brijesh Patel to name as the new head while Anurag Thakur kept debating for Ganguly. After all the questions and answers have done, Ganguly finally named as the next President at the end of the day and Brijesh Patel became the new IPL chairman.

The former Indian cricketer is all set to take the Indian cricket fraternity toa complete new heights and revamp the biggest governing body of cricket in India. However, he will take over the reigns of the apex organization for a short period of time as he will go into a ‘cooling-off period’ from July 2020 under the new rules of BCCI.
With this new appointment, Ganguly has become the second Indian cricketer who has been named as the BCCI President after Maharaja of Vizianagaram. He will now work for conditioning domestic cricket in the country with his new team of BCCI.
