Ahead of the grand auction ceremony of Indian Premier League 2020, renowned franchise Mumbai Indians bagged the services of New Zealand pacer Trent Boult for the upcoming season. As the glitzy event of cricket is just a few months away, all the participating teams have already started preparing to put up a great show in the 13th edition. The defending champions Mumbai Indians are also prepping up to make the best set of the team in the next edition.
The left-arm fast bowler Trent Boult was traded by the Delhi Capitals in last season but now he has been roped in by Mumbaikars for the next year. The experienced Kiwi pacer Boult will now lead the Mumbai pacing unit alongside superstar bowler Jasprit Bumrah. It will be interesting to see how the brilliant pacer will perform for his new squad in IPL 2020.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals have also traded uncapped player Ankit Rajpoot for the next IPL carnival. The 25-year-old young Indian cricketer Ankit is the only uncapped player in the history of Indian Premier League who has a five-wicket haul to his name. Now when he has been picked up by the Royals, he is looking forward to perform even better against the other strong teams. Earlier in IPL 2018, he represented the popular squad of Sunrisers Hyderabad where he marked career-best figures for his team’s win.
The auctions for IPL season 13 will take place on December 19th in Kolkata. For the first time in the history of Indian Premier League, the Board of control for cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to conduct the auctions in a new city and not in Bengaluru. In the upcoming auctions, all of the eight franchises (Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, Kings XI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Royal Challengers Bangalore) will be allotted a budget of Rs 85 crore in total to build their respective teams. It will be interesting to see who will go under the hammer and who will be retained in the forthcoming ceremony.
