The sixth match of World Cup 2019 between the hosts England and Pakistan has proved very costly for both the teams as the whole team of Pakistani cricketers along with two star England players have been fined by cricket authorities of International Cricket Council (ICC). This comes after the Pakistan cricket team skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed fined 20 percent of his match fee for conducting slow over-rate during the 50-over tournament while his team has been fined with 10 percent of match fee each following the over-rate conduct.

Besides the green army, England’s brilliant batsman Jason Roy and talented pacer Jofra Archer both have also been fined by the council due to their inappropriate behaviour during the match.

The 28-year-old English cricketer Roy was fined for breaching the code of conduct as he used an audible obscenity at the time of Pakistan’s innings. After the misfielding incident in 14th over, Roy used inappropriate language to show his disappointment which was clearly heard by the umpires and as a result ICC fined him with 15 percent of his match fee. On the other hand, Archer was fined for showing his dissent towards umpire’s call during the 27th over of Pakistan’s innings. Young gun Archer was delivering the ball to Pakistani batsman and suddenly Umpire gave the wide ball decision to his delivery after which Archer showed his disagreement in rage. As a result the 24-year-old Archer has also been fined with 15 percent of his match fee.

After the 15 percent match fee fine to both the cricketers also got one demerit point which has been added into Roy’s and Archer’s disciplinary cricket records

Moreover, Pakistan turned around its losing momentum with the game after defeating England’s squad by 14 runs. After winning the toss England decided to bowl first but Pakistan set such a massive target of 349 runs in front of the hosts that they couldn’t able to reach despite smashing two big centuries. Pakistani players contributed very well in all the three departments (bowling, batting and fielding) in order to seal this game with an astonishing win.

Pakistan will next face Sri Lanka at Bristol County ground on June 7 while English cricketers will take on Bangladesh squad at Sophia Gardens on June 8, 2019.
