In the recent administrative changes, All India Football Federation (AIFF) has appointed Doru Isac of Romania as its new technical director on Monday after evaluating 60 prospective candidates. The 56-year-old Romanian has the brilliant experience of three years in different types of coaching roles and not only this he also worked as a sporting director of Yokohama Marinos football club who won the title of J-League thrice.
The Romanian football manager had previously assisted the stalwart teams like France, Japan, Romania, Saudi Arabia, United States, Singapore and Qatar which could help 101st-ranked India to reach to the higher levels in football rankings.
While expressing his joy after joining the post of technical director in AIFF Isac said, “I need to thank AIFF for the opportunity. I’m eager to make a positive contribution to the progress of football in India and to work with everyone from the AIFF family”.
India who is currently heading without any coach had sacked Stephen Constantine from his position after the Indian squad lost their group stage match at AFC Asian Cup in January 2019. The general secretary of All India Football Federation (AIFF) Kushal Das said on the development, “I look up to Mr Doru to make value addition to our coach education programme, grassroots, women’s and men’s football too”. Isac is going to prove a great leader for India as he will work hard in order to improve roadmap that has already been laid down for the young squads. Moreover, the experienced Romanian has also worked with the Portuguese football coach, Carlos Queiroz before leaving his position in Japan.
