English Club Arsenal defeated Napoli squad in a big blow at UEFA Europa League quarter-finals on Thursday. The Stadio San Paolo witnessed the dispatch of Italians by 1-0 after the star player of Arsenal Alexandre Lacazette scored the winning goal for his side with a brilliant free-kick in the 36th minute of the game. This win leads Arsenal to the semi-finals of Europa League where they will face Spanish giant Valencia on May 3, 2019. The squad entered in the final-four game with 3-0 points on aggregate.
The head coach of the winning squad Unai Emrey said on this celebratory moment, “I’m very proud of the players, very proud of our work. The players showed personality. Our objective was to score, we did that, to win, and to be consistent for 90 minutes”.
On the contrary loss of Napoli in the biggest football tournament means there is no Italian squad left in the league as star player Ronaldo’s Juventus has already crashed out of the competition after losing to Ajax on Tuesday at Allianz Stadium, Juventus. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner tried hard to take his side towards win in the first half but the even more talented Ajax player scripted the victory for their team.
Arsenal faced no trouble by Italian squad during the whole match but after half an hour the English squad face a major jolt after their key player Aaron Ramsey was injured due to hamstring issue in the ongoing match. However, Napoli make the use of this chance to the fullest in order to turn up the things for them but unable to succeed as the star-studded team of Arsenal made comeback forcefully and the 27-year-old Lacazette fired the goal from 25 yards far from the box which breaks the goal-less score in the match.
