The third largest football club of Spain, Atletico Madrid has taken a great initiative to open a football academy in non-football lovers country Pakistan. In a country like Pakistan where it is almost impossible to see youth playing football, Atletico Madrid made a bold move to establish the soccer academy for young age group in order to promote the game more and more. With this, Atletico FC has become the first ever European team to open an academy in Pakistan where cricket is not just a game its a religion and whose Prime Minister Imran Khan was the former cricket captain.
The next-gen footballer of Pakistan will get the training under the watchful eyes Javier Visea and Daniel Limones who have been providing brilliant teaching skills in football for a very long time. The 22-year-old Visea has seen himself as a pioneer who is all set to bring the talented sport across the country which lacks infrastructure and institutional support towards the young-age players.
Currently, experienced coaches Daniel and Javier are conducting training workshops across the three schools in Lahore and provide teachings three days a week at the learning centres. As of now, a total of 600 youngsters have come forward to participate in these unique training sessions.
While expressing his joy on opening football academy in the country director of Atletico Madrid Academy in Pakistan, Syed Zahab Ali said, “we plan to open six academies in the next five years in Pakistan. Two in Lahore, two in Karachi, one in Islamabad and one in Rawalpindi”.
