The renowned goalkeeper of Barcelona, Neto is likely to miss the opening encounter of his side in La Liga 2019-20. This came after brilliant goalie Neto injured his wrist during the training sessions for Barcelona FC. After the complete assessment of the injury, it was found that the talented player needs at least a week or two to get back on the field and play for his side. This directly means that he will not be the part of playing XI of Barcelona’s squad against Athletic Bilbao in La Liga campaign opener on Friday.
While speaking about Neto’s injury update, the popular club Barcelona spread out a statement which read, “in the last training session, first-team player Neto suffered a bruise on his left wrist. The tests have diagnosed a scaphoid bone fracture. The treatment is to follow and the time the player is out for will be determined on Monday.”
The 30-year-old Brazilian footballer who was previously playing for Valencia FC has been transferred to Barca on June 2019 for €26m plus €9m in add-ons. The Olympic silver medallist Neto has played many big events so far, one of them was 2015 Copa América where he got a chance to performed for his national team Brazil.
Apart from Neto, the star skipper of Barca squad, Lionel Messi also gave an injury blow to his team as he also damaged his calf. Messi sustained a serious calf tear after which it became impossible for him to play in the tournament opener. Whole club is now keeping its fingers crossed about their superstar players. It will be very tough for Barcelona to play against Messi.
