Barca star Lionel Messi could return back in the game to save his squad from drowning after a disastrous start at La Liga 2019-20. The 32-year-old football great who suffered a painful calf injury during a training session has now recovered quite well. As a result, he could lead Barcelona squad once again in the second match of La Liga against Real Betis on Sunday. If Messi will join his team back he will put his best to lift Barcelona in the game and reduce the chances of a horrifying second slip in the prestigious tournament.
This is the high time for Ernesto Valverde’s men to bounce back in the after back-to-back big blows. Suarez and Dembele also picked up a serious injury before the upcoming battle while the arrival of Neymar in the team has still remained a question for Barca fans. It will interesting to see whether Messi’s team will be able to conquer all odds or they will be jolted by Betis at the home pitch.
In their opening battle of the ongoing season against Athletic Bilbao, La Liga champions faced a painful defeat with a close margin of 1-0 at San Mames. This was their first opening day defeat in La Liga since past 11 years. All thanks to veteran striker Aritz Aduriz who scored a last-minute shot for his team’s win. Barca without Messi found it very difficult to stand firm against Bilbao. Despite putting their best through stalwarts Luis Suarez and Gerard Pique, defending champions still fall short in the game.
The brilliant defender of Barcelona squad Gerard Pique said after the match finished off, “San Mames is always a difficult place to play, When you’re not at your best, they make you look stupid”. Now the La Liga superstars are hoping to get back on the winning ways with the probable return of Lionel Messi
