The brilliant skipper of Brazilian National squad, Dani Alves who recently lifted the shining trophy of Copa America 2019 has been named as the best player of the tournament on Tuesday. This came after the experienced defender Alves took his side to the successful win on home ground and became the first-ever footballer to clinch total 40 trophies on his name.

The 36-year-old Brazilian footballer took the helms of his squad after replacing Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star Neymar as a captain of the team. Neymar had been sacked out from Canarinho squad as he was facing series of dreadful controversies off the field, including an inappropriate physical abuse with a fan that directly earned him a three-match ban by the French Football Association (FFA).

Apart from right-back Alves, other experienced footballers of his team such as Goalkeeper Alisson, center-back Thiago Silva, midfielder Arthur and forward Everton have also been named in the 2019 Copa America’s team of the tournament by the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL).

During the medal presentation ceremony after the conclusion of a prestigious tournament  Guerrero and Everton had been awarded with the great honour of top-scoring as they marked three goals each in a single edition.

The hosts of the season Brazil clinched the ninth title of Copa America after defeating Peru in the hard-fought battle of grand finale. Dani Alves-led squad thrashed Peruvians with the close margin of 3-1 at Maracana Stadium on Sunday. The credit of the valuable victory goes to the star forwards  Everton Soares, Gabriel Jesus and Richarlison who helped their side to beat the opponents easily. The two finalists last faced each other in the same event of Copa America 2019 where Brazilians shocked Peruvians by 5-0 scoreline at Corinthians Arena.

Copa America 2019 seemed to look quite fortunate for Brazilian squad as they didn’t face any defeat in the entire tournament. The only time they felt the jolt in winning-momentum was during the Group A battle against Venezuela where they failed to grab any goal and had to satisfy themselves with a 0-0 draw at Fonte Nova Arena.
