Cristiano Ronaldo has tested positive for coronavirus and will miss Portugal’s Nations League match against Sweden.

The Juventus forward featured in both of Portugal’s fixtures in this international break. After the news broke out of Ronaldo’s positive test, the whole Portugal side had to be tested. However, no other positive cases came.

In an official statement, Portugal national team said, “Cristiano Ronaldo was released from the work of the National Team after a positive test for COVID-19, so he will not face Sweden. The Portuguese international is doing well, without symptoms, and in isolation.

“Following the positive case, the remaining players underwent new tests this Tuesday morning, all with a negative result, and are available to Fernando Santos for training this afternoon.”

The 35-year-old will be doubtful for Juventus’ match against Crotone in the Serie A and the team’s Champions League trip to Dynamo Kiev next Tuesday.
