Liverpool beat Chelsea on Sunday night to concrete their position at the top in Premier League points table. The Reds are now two points above defending champions Manchester City, although, City have a game in hand to recover the lead.
Mohamed Salah, who has had an average season before the clash, proved his worth with spectacular strike to seal the win for the home team. Salah fired a rocket from outside the box which beat Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, scoring Liverpool’s second goal of the game.
Salah’s calm celebration was the moment of the night as he posed in a still position after scoring the winning goal.
After the match, in an interview with Sky Sports, Salah revealed the reason behind the celebration in a humorous way. He just explained it by saying, “I’m a yoga man! I don’t know, I just had in my mind immediately to do this. I do yoga”, he continued.
Salah, who is famous for his short-range goals said that he was not prepared to do it from a long range, but it just stuck into his mind and he hit the ball with power.
“I go inside, normally I’d shoot with my feet but the inside.
“This one I just decided, because it’s far, to swing it with power,” Salah said.
The Egyptian King said the luck was involved in his winning the goal as he said, “I was a bit lucky the ball hit the net like that!”
Liverpool will next play FC Porto in the second leg of Champions League quarterfinals at the Anfield. The Reds are already 2-0 up in the quarters clash against the Portuguese side and a goal will help them reach the semis.
