Last year’s runners-up of the grand ISL tournament FC Goa have started their sixth edition of Indian Super League with a bang as the hosts clinched a brilliant 3-0 win against two-time champions Chennaiyin FC at their home on Wednesday. Both the teams went hard on each other at the beginning of the game as both Goa and Chennaiyin squads were playing aggressively in the initial minutes. After so many attempts at goal, the hosts finally gained an opportunity to open the account at the 30th minute of first half. All thanks to Seiminlen Doungel who fired a powerful shot against Chennaiyin boys to give a 1-0 lead to his team. After the opener of hosts in the match, visitors tried very hard to level-up the game before halftime but failed to do so. As a result, the first half ended with a 1-0 scoreline in favour of Goa.

In the second half of the nail-biting game, Goans accelerated their speed and sounded with another goal at 62nd minute with the help of star forward player Ferran Corominas who slotted amazing goal to extend the lead for his team. This mounted immense pressure on the visitors and before they could recover from the big blow, hosts sounded with a match-winning goal at 81st minute. Stunning defender Carlos Pena came forward to register the third shot for FC Goa from a free-kick. In this way, hosts sealed their campaign opener with a remarkable win against Chennaiyin FC.
