The last year’s runners-up Goans painted the whole stadium of Mumbai Football Arena into orange colour as they edged past the home team of Mumbai City FC with a great margin of 4-2 on Thursday night. As a result, Goans sounded with an opener through the powerful shot of Lenny Rodrigues at the 27th minute. Before the hosts could emerge from this shock Ferran Corominas came forward to double the lead for his team at 45th minute. In this way, the first half was ended with 2-0 lead in the favour of FC Goa.

In the second half of the game, Sarthak Golui came out with all guns blazing for Mumbai City FC and marked an outstanding opener at 47th minute. This was then followed by another impressive shot of the night from Souvik Chakraborty who leveled the scores for his team at 55th minute. But it seemed like this was not enough to knock down Goans in the nail-biting encounter as bounced back with an emphatic kick of Hugo Boumous at 59th minute. When only one minute was left on the clock for final whistle visitors sounded with the fourth goal by Carlos Pena and sealed the match successfully.
