The brilliant squad of Odisha FC finally ended their losing streak in the 12th match of Indian Super League season six on Thursday night. The strong visitors emerged victorious against hosting team Mumbai City FC after back-to-back humiliating defeats in the ongoing season. Odisha FC handed a 4-2 defeat to Mumbai boys at their own den. All thanks to the incredible team efforts of Josep Gombau’s men who performed like superstars at the Mumbai Football Arena on October 31st.

Surprisingly, visitors got off an amazing start this time against Mumbai City FC as they found the net within six minutes of starting. The star winger of Odisha FC Xisco Hernandez fired a powerful shot towards the goalpost and earned a 1-0 lead for his team. A few minutes later, the visitors were sounded with another goal through Aridane Santana which gave Odisha a 2-0 lead against Mumbai City FC before the first half was ended. But this was not enough for the in-form squad of Odisha as Jerry Mawihmingthanga register a third straight goal against the hapless hosts at 41st minute.

Though in the second half, Mumbai’s attacking midfielder Mohamed Larbi brought his team back in the game as he scored a much-needed opener for the hosts at 51st minute after a hard struggle. But it seemed like Mumbai’s celebration was short-lived as Santana came out with another goal for Odisha at 72nd minute and gave his squad a 4-1 lead.

However, the hosts went all out to bounce back in the game in the dying minutes but failed to reduce the gap. Eventually, the match was ended with a late fortuitous hit by Bipin Singh in the extra time and Mumbai City FC lost by 2-4 margin.
