Former Italian football manager Antonio Conte has been appointed as the new head coach of Inter Milan FC after sacking Luciano Spalletti on Friday. Despite leading the side to Serie A win, Inter dismissed the Italian expert and appointed Conte for the next season.
The Interclub President Steven Zhang welcomed the brilliant coach by saying, “I’m sure that Antonio Conte is one of the best coaches out there. I’m certain that he’ll help us achieve our objective and fulfil our mission, which has always remained the same”. While Conte reacted on his joining with the new team, “a new chapter in my life is beginning, I’m really excited. I have chosen Inter because of the club it is, because of the project’s sound basis and how ambitious it is”.
Earlier the 49-year-old veteran footballer coached the powerful teams like Chelsea FC from 2016 till 2018, SSC Bari from 2007 till 2008 and Italian National Football Team from 2014 till 2016. Not only this, he was also named as the head coach of arch-rivals Juventus previously in 2011. The action-pack Italian club won three simultaneous Serie A titles from season 2012 to 2014 under Conte ‘s guidance.
After being appointed as the manager of Italian National Team, Conte led the Azzurri squad to Euro Championship 2016 quarterfinals where his side faced the bitter rivals Germany. The Germans toppled over Conte’s army by 6–5 in the final-eight match. The defeat ultimately results in Italian legend’s departure from the team.
Moreover, the greatest footballer of his time Conte started his managerial journey from Barri squad in 2006. He led the team to 2008–09 Serie B title against Parma. He was appointed as the chief coach of Barri after the dismissal of Giuseppe Materazzi.
Before taking the reigns of Internazionale, Conte directed his side Chelsea to a 1–0 victory over Manchester United squad in the grand finale of 2018 FA cup. The 18-time Serie A champions Inter won their career-best match in 2009-2010 season of Champions League and ended their tournament with the fourth position in 2018-19 edition in order to qualify for Champions League next edition. The versatile footballer played as the attacking midfielder in his great football career stint.
