The star forward of Argentina club who also leads the Barca team, Lionel Messi has been roped in by head coach of National Football Squad Lionel Scaloni for upcoming Copa America 2019. Apart from five-time Ballon d’Or title winner, brilliant striker Sergio Aguero has also opted for the grand tournament in order to lead the squad along with Barca’s forward. Notably, Aguero has not been seen playing for Argentina since last year’s FIFA World Cup exit.

However, exclusion of experienced footballers like Gabriel Mercado and Mauro Icardi by the coach Scaloni came as a big shock for Argentine fans. Although, attacking winger of Paris Saint-Germain Angel Di Maria was also named for the football league but he was ruled out due to severe injury. The Argentina-born star has made a total of 18 appearances in the 2018 FIFA World Cup campaign. The 31-year-old star footballer had also scored the longest ranging goal for Argentina squad in the World Cup tournament but later his side lost the Round of 16 match against France in a  4–3 defeat.

Interestingly, River Plate’s explosive defender Milton Casco has successfully paved his way in the national team in 2019 edition of Copa America for the very first time. Moreover, Aguero also made it to the Argentina Squad for the first time.

The biggest international continental football championship, Copa America 2019 is scheduled to be held at Brazil from June 14 to July 7 and the Argentina squad will start their football campaign on June 15  against Group B mates Colombia. After facing Colombia, The White and Sky-Blues will lock horns with Paraguay on June 19 and then finish the Group Stage matches after taking on Qatar FC. Argentina will play in Group B side along with Colombia, Paraguay and Qatar.
