Argentinean star Lionel Messi who is playing for Spanish club FC Barcelona, from the past 16 years has not extended his contract with his club. As per the current contract, he will stay with the club till the end of 2021. According to the report of Spanish radio Cadena Ser, Messi has been involved in controversies with Barcelona’s sporting director Eric Abidal and former Barca coach Ernesto Valverde. Due to this reason, Messi doesn’t want to extend his contract with Barcelona.
18-year-old Messi debuted of FC Barcelona on 16th October 2014. From then till now he has scored 630 goals and has made 272 assists for his club. With the help of Messi Barcelona has won 34 trophies including, 10 La Ligas and 4 UEFA Champions League.
Relations between Messi and sporting manager Eric Abidal worsened after Valverde was sacked

After Valverde was sacked Abidal said without taking the name of any player, players were not happy with him so the management decided to sack him.
