“He cannot do more than what he does. Season after season after season, Sonny is showing how good he is,” Mourinho said.

Son Heung-min has touched a golden patch of form after an astounding nine goals and four assists in eight games. The South Korean and Kane have hit the stage with devastating effect.

After coming on as a substitute in the game against LASK in Europa League, Son scored one of the already “many” goals this season. When Jose Mourinho was asked about a contract extension for Son, he said he would “love it.”

“I would love that,” he said. “Son has three years of the contract so it’s not like we’re in an extreme situation of everybody being worried.

Apart from two disappointing draws against Newcastle and West Ham, Mourinho would be happy for how his side is playing. @goal/Twitter

“It’s more that Son loves it here. I believe that he would like to commit his future to the club for a long time.

“Everybody at the club is totally in love with this player and this boy and is trying also to make him feel part of the furniture.”

“He cannot do more than what he does. Season after season after season, Sonny is showing how good he is,” Mourinho said.

“Of course, the better the team is, the easier it is for the players to emerge. But Sonny is Sonny and everyone knows what he needs to do now to go to the next step: nothing.”
