Paul Parker believes that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should be given more time as he doing an “ok” job at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have had a torrid start to the 2020/21 Premier league campaign. They have picked up just 7 points from their opening six games.

But on the flipside, United had an exceptional start to their Champions League group stage. Performances have been extremely good against last year’s finalists and semi-finalists Paris Saint Germian and Red Bull Salzburg respectively.

But there have been constant cries from the United faithful after their horrendous performances at home, especially against Tottenham Hotspur and more recently, Arsenal.

The former United defender has urged Manchester United board and fans that they must be patient with the Norwegian. “Ole is doing OK. He is fighting against his doubters at the moment, but I think he is in front,” said the 56-year-old who made 105 appearances for United between 1991 and 1996.

He further said, “We have been in this position before with United, making progress then sacking managers. We will have to wait and see with Solskjaer. The doubters come out in force when he loses a game, there are a lot of people who don’t want him in the job, they want a bigger name, they want a bigger manager.”

“You can only manager the problem so far given who is upstairs. There will be highs like the two Champions League games.”

Man United now travel to Turkey where they will play the Turkish League Champions Istanbul Basaksehir before travelling to Goodison Park in a fierce clash against high flying Toffees. Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer must take full advantage of these games to avoid increasing the pressure on him.
