Spanish football club Real Madrid’s striker Mariano Diaz has been tested positive for corona. Diaz will not be able to take part in Real Madrid’s fixture in UEFA Champions League against Manchester City, the club has confirmed it.
Club on Tuesday released a statement, stating, some players were tested for corona, but the report of Mariano Diaz has come out to be positive. The club posted on their website, “After the COVID-19 tests carried out yesterday on our first team footballers by the Real Madrid Medical Services, our player Mariano, tested positive. The player is in perfect health and is complying with the protocol of isolation at home.”
Mariano went on holidays after the league ended
Like other players, Mariano went on holiday to celebrate the league win. He is not the only Spanish player who has been found corona positive after the league ended. A week ago few players of Fuenlabrada FC were found corona positive, due to which their upcoming fixtures were canceled.
Last season Mariano played 7 matches for Real Madrid. Mariano played only 7 matches for Real Madrid, he was only able to score one goal in those 7 matches. Real Madrid will have to beat Manchester City to secure a spot in Quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League. Though Madrid lost to City in the first leg of the round of 16.
French striker Mbappe out for 3 weeks
French striker Kylian Mbappe got injured in French Cup while plating against St. Etienne. He got his ankle broken when Etienne’s captain tackled him, though the captain received a red card for the deadly tackle. Mbappe will be out for 3 weeks, which means he will not be able to play UCL quarterfinal against Atlanta on the 12th of August. Besides that, he will not be playing the Ligue Cup final against Lyon this week.
