As the final showdown of UEFA Nations League is all set to roll in next month, hosting team Portugal has announced its 23-men squad for the grand tournament on Thursday. This year, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo will lead the team in Nations League tournament along with newly invited player from Benfica FC, Ruben Dias. Dias team-mate from Benfica Joao Felix has also been roped in by Fernandos Santos for 2019 Nations League squad. Young attacking player Felix had an amazing debut season for his side Benfica which attract all the national football team selectors to grab him in their teams. Though, the 19-year-old Portuguese player is still uncapped by the Portugal National Football Club.
Portugal team will start their prestigious football campaign against Switzerland in the semi-finals round on June 5 at Porto. And the winner of the final-four competition will lock the horns in finals either with England or Netherlands on June 10 at Porto Stadium.
Moreover, League champion England has already announced its final Nations League squad earlier last week. Notably, ace striker Harry Kane is returning back to the squad after recovering well from the injury. Furthermore, before performing his best for England in Nations league Kane will prepare himself for Tottenham Hotspur squad which is going to play its final Champions League match against Liverpool FC on June 2, 2019.
Apart from Harry Kane, Portugal’s star forward player Ronaldo had also been sidelined from the squad after missing many important matches in 2018 followed by his official agreements with coach Fernando Santos.
