As the Olympic Test Event is all set to roll from this Saturday in Japan, both Indian Women’s and Men’s Hockey squads are ready for the action in order to secure their respective places in Tokyo Olympics 2020.

World No. 5 India men’s hockey team will play against lowly- ranked World no. 8 New Zealand, World no. 12 Malaysia and World no. 16 Japan in the prestigious event while World No.10 women’s team will have to face a bit tough competition in the event as compared to the men’s team. Rani Rampal-led squad will battle against World no. 2 Australia, World no. 11 China and World no. 14 at the grand event.

The star skipper of Indian Men’s hockey squad and brilliant dragflicker Harmanpreet Singh said before heading towards the important Tokyo Olympics test event, “We have a great opportunity to test a younger bunch of players in the matches against Malaysia, Japan, and New Zealand. They are good teams to play against and we are now adjusting well to our chief coach’s ideas”

While the experienced skipper of Indian Women’s Hockey Squad stated before moving on for a new journey, “we have a great challenge in front of us at the Olympic Test Event, but we are pretty confident of doing well. We face Australia, China, and Japan, and it will be a tough tournament, but we know we can beat any team in the world”. Indian women’s hockey squad is looking more than prepared for their upcoming battle against strong countries. Rani Rampal and team are set to put their best in the game in order to secure a berth in Tokyo Olympics 2020.

This test event for both the squads will certainly help India to book a spot in the grand tournament of Olympics 2020 at Tokyo. Only time will tell who will conquer this road to the Olympics.
