Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher, has heaped praise on the current Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, by saying “he’s been brilliant” on his Sky Sports’ Pitch to Post podcast.
The Reds legend speaking on the podcast continued by saying that he has been exceptional since his appointment as Arsenal head-coach in December 2019.
Carragher was talking about several aspects before monday’s blockbuster match between his former club, Liverpool, and Arsenal. Liverpool are on a two-match losing streak against the Gunners and Mikel Arteta’s side will be looking to make it a third win in a row. But Arsenal will no doubt be tested against the Champions. The Reds have a 60-match unbeaten record at their home. The Gunners’ boss praised the playing style of Liverpool saying they dominate almost “every aspect of the game” and thus his team should be ready for any situation.
Jamie Carragher, the club’s second longest serving player, who amassed a total of a whopping 737 appearances for The Reds said, “There’s no doubt Arsenal are on the way back under Mikel Arteta. I think he’s been a brilliant signing. I’m so impressed with how he’s managing that squad.”
“But what he’s done with the squad he’s inherited is fantastic. To win the FA Cup, beat Liverpool a couple of times in the league and Community Shield, that’s something Liverpool will want to put right.”
Indeed he’s correct. Liverpool will cause Arsenal lot of problems. Their front three is one of the best, if not the best in the whole Europe. Thus, the Gunners must be prepared for every battle if they are to preserve their 100% win record this season.
